On Sunday 17th July, the stunning Kamares garden in Newton Mearns will open it’s doors to the public to raise funds for Scotland’s Gardens Scheme, which raises money for hundreds of local charities through the promotion and support of inspiring garden openings.
Sitting in two-thirds of an acre, Kamares is a hacienda-style house surrounded by mature trees and a beautiful beech hedge. The garden has been designed by the artist owner and her husband to incorporate a well-established pond, acers, Japanese grasses, colourful mixed shrubs, herbaceous borders and rare US sequoias. There are also several patio gardens and a delightful courtyard with a rockery and miniature waterfall.
We are looking for volunteers to help set up the event, serve tea & coffee, and help to clear up between 2pm and 5pm on 17th July.
