Burns Night Firewalk

Burns Night…but with a red-hot difference – Join our Charity Burns Night Firewalk

Cosgrove Care and Jewish Care Scotland are teaming up once again to bring the community together and raise funds to support their vital work.  Join Cosgrove Care and JCS on Sunday 28th January 2024 at the Walton Community Care Centre to brave a barefoot walk over burning embers to raise money for your chosen charity.

Walkers can choose to take part and raise funds for either Cosgrove Care or Jewish Care Scotland.  A £20 registration fee secures your place while each walker is encouraged to raise £130 sponsorship before the event – although the sky is the limit!  With all profits raised going directly to your chosen charity.

Walkers will complete expert training before being guided over the red-hot embers of the firewalk.  While friends, family and spectators can enjoy some Burns Night inspired refreshments and entertainment before cheering on the brave Firewalkers!

JCS board member, and Firewalker, Hazel Tenby adds: “I’m so looking forward to doing the firewalk as a fundraiser for Jewish Care Scotland.  This is a challenge I have done before many years ago but excited to experience the thrill again whilst raising vital funds for such a worthy cause and, as a past employee, current volunteer and board member, it is so close to my heart.”

Cosgrove Care Chief Executive, Heather Gray said, ‘ I did the firewalk last year and it was a fantastic experience and really rewarding! I am really looking forward to the challenge again and some great entertainment on the night and to raise funds for Cosgrove Care.’

Calling all hardy ‘soles’: taking part in a firewalk is not for the faint of heart… but what an exciting challenge? Limited spaces available, visit the websites of either Jewish Care Scotland or Cosgrove Care to register your place for your chosen charity.
