Day Centre Services
The Aviv Club
The Aviv Day Care Centre provides a registered day care service for frail older people and at the present time, over 30 people come twice a week on Mondays and Wednesdays. Morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea are included and entertainment and activities programmes are available to meet individual needs and tastes. Most people attending are quite frail or have physical disabilities and transport is provided to and from the Day Centre.
The Thistle Club
At the Thistle Club, about 50 older people regularly enjoy our lunch club, which meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Lunch and afternoon tea are included and a range of activities – including bridge, discussions, outings, arts and crafts, quizzes, films and keep fit – ensure everyone benefits from the support and company here. Those who can, usually make their own way to the Walton Community Care Centre.
The Kandu Club
The Kandu Club provides an opportunity for younger people with enduring illnesses in our community to come together and enjoy a range of social and therapeutic activities. This is a particularly important service for those with long-term illnesses, many of whom are confined to a wheelchair for much of the day. Transport is provided to and from the club.
The Sunday Club
The Sunday Club is a weekly social club for older people with transport provided if necessary. Activities are similar to the Thistle Club.
