The Social Care Agency is at the heart of Jewish Care Scotland with over 120 volunteers contributing over a fantastic 22,000 hours in total each year! Volunteers really help Jewish Care Scotland create a dynamic and caring environment for those who seek our support and are very much part of the Jewish Care Scotland extended family.
Volunteers currently contribute to 17 sub groups supporting all the twice-weekly and Sunday clubs, organising bowling, arts and crafts, discussions and magazine writing, helping with baking, bus escort and reception duties, providing specialist medication advice, bridge and music and movement activities. Volunteers support our social work team by taking on one to one outreach befriending work with individuals. Volunteers "run" the annual fundraising sponsored Fun Walk and help throughout the year with all sorts of activities and fundraising.

In Jewish Care Scotland volunteers and staff work together in partnership to offer, every day, a truly unique social care service to people in our community, in our day centre and in our clubs. Volunteering can be challenging and stimulating often bringing new friendships and a high degree of satisfaction. We aim for our volunteers to integrate volunteering into their lives so they can continue with other interests, employment and commitments and find the right balance that suits their needs and the requirements of Jewish Care Scotland. We welcome volunteers of all ages and abilities and offer training to equip our volunteers to understand our approach and to recognise individual needs in times of distress and vulnerability.
