Each autumn we send out an Annual Appeal for funds to members of our community
It is our most important fundraising event each year and is crucial to the funding of our ongoing services.
With over 600 people receiving support each year, this appeal is essential if we are to maintain our social work services, day care, lunch club and facilities for young people with enduring illnesses.
To ensure that we reach as many people as possible, we also appeal in the shuls at Rosh Hashonah and Yom Kippur, where we provide donor cards which are collected by stewards.
Despite this, we know that there are still some people who don't receive our appeal letter or hear the appeal in shul.
So if you would like to make a donation now, please send it to us at Jewish Care Scotland, The Walton Community Care Centre, May Terrace, Giffnock, G46 6LD.
If you would like us to mail you a copy of this year's appeal, or if we can answer any questions you may have, please contact us at the address above, or telephone Deborah Haase on 0141 620 1800.
You can also e mail us at admin@jcarescot.org.uk.
All calls and donation details are confidential unless otherwise agreed.
All donations, large and small, really do make a difference and allow us to respond to almost everyone who approaches us for help.
We rely on donations from our community and welcome one off donations at anytime. We are able to accept cash at the Walton Community Care Centre and cheque donations can be delivered or sent by post.
A regular donation helps us plan our services with confidence and means we have funds ready for those in need. We welcome standing order donations for a sum each month. If you would like to make a standing order donation towards our overall or specific costs please call us on 0141 620 1800 or email us at admin@jcarescot.or.uk
With a monthly donation of £10.00 you can pay for three afternoons of musical or other entertainment in one of our clubs.
With a monthly donation of £30.00 you will pay for two treatments for a Kandu Club member each month. We can offer reflexology, physiotherapy and beauty treatments that support both the health and wellbeing of club members.
With a monthly donation of £50.00 you will help pay for one of our mini buses to bring about 20 people in and out of our clubs over a year.
To set up a regular monthly donation by standing order towards our overall or specific costs please call us on 0141 620 1800 or email us at admin@jcarescot.org.uk
We would be pleased to acknowledge your donation. Please call us on 0141 620 1800 to talk in confidence with us about making a donation to Jewish Care Scotland.

For many years now we have been thrilled to receive donations to mark special events.
Sometimes it is from the celebrant but more often from guests when an invitation says: ‘No presents please, but if you would like, please make a donation to Jewish Care Scotland’.
If you would like to mark a special occasion with a donation to Jewish Care Scotland we will prepare and mail our special Gift certificate to the name of your choice.
new baby, grandchild, bar mitzvah, bat mitzvah, graduation, engagement, wedding, anniversary, birthday, family reunions
If you would like more information about our celebration and anniversary gift fund, please call us on 0141 620 1800 or email us at admin@jcarescot.org.uk
You can commemorate your loved ones and support Jewish Care Scotland by having their name inscribed on the memorial board displayed prominently in the foyer at Jewish Care Scotland’s headquarters at the Walton Community Care Centre in Giffnock.
The memorial board allows very special people to be remembered as well as raising significant funding to allow our work to continue. For a donation of £2,500 the name of your loved ones can be remembered in this very special way.
We provide vital social welfare services for around 600 Jewish people a year. Costs inevitably increase each year so fundraising is always required. Maureen Solomons, Chair of Jewish Care Scotland, said: “We would like to encourage people to make use of the memorial board as part of our ongoing fundraising programme.”
There is a specially produced information video for people to find out more about our work on a day-to-day basis.
If you would like further information about the memorial board, please contact Deborah Haase on 0141 620 1800 or email us on deborahH@jcarescot.org.uk.

Leaving a legacy to Jewish Care Scotland in your will means you are helping to ensure we will be able to care for those most in need in the community.
Thanks to legacies made to Jewish Care Scotland in the past, we were able fund the building of a large part of our comfortable purpose built centre in Giffnock.
Interest income from capital legacies also contribute funding towards our day to day services. We help over 600 people annually who have family or financial problems, difficulties associated with illness or disability or who, for one reason or another, are perhaps just a little lonely.
A will is essential if you want to decide where your property and possessions go after your death. If you don’t leave a will your family may incur extra cost and upset. If you have no family everything you own goes to the Treasury, rather than to friends or causes close to your heart.
In making a will stipulating a legacy or donation to Jewish Care Scotland, as well of course as looking after your own family, you can set up a very tax efficient way of helping others.
You can make a legacy by stating in your will that a specific item of value, or a sum of money or property, is to be given to Jewish Care Scotland after your death, by the executor of your estate. You will need to include these details in your will: Jewish Care Scotland, Walton Community Care Centre, May Terrace, Giffnock, Glasgow G46 6LD. Charity number SCO 05267.
In your legacy you can leave an item of value, the proceeds of a life insurance policy, stocks and shares, jewellery or other item of value. You can leave a percentage of your estate or a percentage of your estate once all your debts and funeral and testamentary expenses are met.
Contact us in confidence 0141 620 1800 to answer any questions you might have. Your solicitor can advise you on leaving a lasting legacy to Jewish Care Scotland.

Jewish Care Scotland’s annual sponsored walk has grown in popularity in recent years to become a regular and significant source of funding for Jewish Care Scotland.
Every June, more and more people of all ages in the community are applying for sponsorship sheets, signing up their sponsors, doing, we hope, a little training and then coming along on the day to have a great time and do their bit for Jewish Care Scotland.
This sponsored walk is unique, open to everyone game to go the four miles or eight miles, including the pet dog and the baby buggy pusher.
We start and finish at Jewish Care Scotland’s HQ at The Walton Community Care Centre in Giffnock and in between explore the charming byways of Rouken Glen and Eastwood. Volunteers staff crossing and water points along the route ensuring everyone is safe, well and stays on track.
All walkers are timed in and out and awarded their own medal recording their achievement. Volunteers then reward our walkers with a smoked salmon and bagel brunch and refreshments.
The walkers then claim their sponsorship and bring in their contributions to Jewish Care Scotland.
In 2008, 150 walkers raised a fantastic sum of over £19,000.
Come and join us in 2009 - email admin@jcarescot.org.uk or call us on 0141 620 1800 and we will send you a form.
Gift aid - what is it?
Using gift aid means that for every pound you give, Jewish Care Scotland will receive an extra 28 pence from the Inland Revenue.
This means that a £10 donation is worth £12.80 – it makes a real different to Jewish Care Scotland and it doesn't cost you a thing.
If you are a higher rate taxpayer, you can claim the difference between the higher rate of tax at 40 per cent and the basic rate of tax at 22 per cent on the total value to your donation to the charity (the ‘gross donation’). You make this claim on your Self Assessment tax return.
Look out for the gift aid logo and tick box on our annual appeal donation form and include it with your donation to Jewish Care Scotland.
Please phone us at 0141 620 1800 or e mail us at admin@jcarescot.org.uk for a gift aid form.
You can download a gift aid form by clicking here and printing the form from your computer.
We are not yet able to accept donations on-line. We hope to introduce this facility in the future.
Jewish Care Scotland would welcome sponsors to help fund staff, special projects and activities.
Other sponsorship opportunities include our annual appeal brochure, festival parties, the annual sponsored walk, lunch and tea for club members, transport, entertainments.
There are also opportunities to help fund staff through sponsorship agreements.
If you would like to talk about business or individual sponsorship opportunities please call Deborah Haase, Development Manager on 0141 620 1800 or email deborahH@jcarescot.org.uk
