JCS brand feedback discussion

JCS are inviting the community to join us on Wednesday 15 May from 11am at the Walton Community Care Centre, May Terrace, Giffnock for a branding feedback session.

We’ll have a friendly discussion based around the community perception of JCS and our services. Please feel free to come along before Welcome Wednesday.

Welcome Wednesday: 165th film screening

JCS will be screening our official 165th anniversary video from 1.45pm in the Day Centre on Wednesday 8 May after Welcome Wednesday.

This event is free and open to anyone who visits the Walton Community Care Centre, May Terrace, Giffnock.

Morph Fit Gentle Exercise classes at JCS

JCS will be hosting gentle exercise classes with Morph Fitness each Monday in May from 10.30am at the Walton Community Care Centre, Giffnock. Spring into shape and join us for a four-week block of free gentle movement classes in May!

Cara from Morph Fit will be facilitating the classes – graduating with a First Class Degree in Sports Development, she is also a fully qualified personal instructor.   She has extensive experience in delivering gentle exercises to the ageing population through gentle movement programmes, Age Scotland, Active Age and across several other events.

We recommend that you attend wearing loose, comfy clothing for easy movement.  After the event we invite you to join us for tea, coffee or juice and a catch up.

Discussion Panel

 

Titled, “Where are we going as a community and congregation?” , the next discussion panel will be held on Wednesday 10 April from 1.30pm after JCS’s drop-in style café, Welcome Wednesday.  All are welcome and invited to come and be part of the conversation.

Alongside our host, Lennie Wilson, Rabbi Rubin will be joining the conversation as our first official panellist. Further panellists tbc.

Sing-a-long sessions with Eddie Binnie

 

Eddie will be joining JCS on the first and third Wednesday of each month from 1.30pm. Come along, enjoy a song or two and share the joy of music with everyone in attendance.

Welcome Wednesday

Every Wednesday at JCS

 

Welcome Wednesday is a drop-in café which meets every Wednesday in the Walton Centre. There’s no need to book, just drop by between 12pm and 3pm. Welcome Wednesday is open to everybody!

 

Come along and catch up with old friends and new. With optional activities and entertainment including music with Eddie Binnie (the first and third Wednesday of each month), regular discussion panels and a variety of guests.

Crochet, sew, knit and natter

Wednesday from 1.30pm

JCS are delighted to announce the launch of “Crochet, sew, knit and natter”, an informal gathering at our weekly Welcome Wednesday session.

Bring along your latest project to work on while catching up with friends, share patterns and tips or even ask for some advice if you need it!

Lunch and light refreshments are available from Welcome Wednesday from 12pm to 3pm.

Please note this is not a group or a club, just an informal meeting of like-minded people!
